Jewelry Care
Every piece in the Archive has already lived a life. A little care keeps it ready for the next one.
Wearing
- Put jewelry on last, after lotion, perfume and hairspray.
- Take it off before swimming, showering, working out or sleeping.
- Avoid water on vintage and plated pieces. Moisture can dull finishes and loosen settings.
Cleaning
- Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wearing.
- Skip harsh chemicals, dips and polishing pastes, especially on plated, gold-tone and silver-tone pieces.
- For cameos, pearls, abalone and glass, use only a dry or barely damp cloth, then dry right away.
Storing
- Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined box so pieces don't scratch or tangle.
- Keep jewelry somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sunlight and humidity.
- Lay chains flat or hang them to prevent kinks.
A Note on Patina
Light wear and patina are part of a vintage piece's history. We celebrate them, and we hope you will too.
